Many restaurants strive for a unique decor or an atmosphere to separate themselves from competition. However, the Ranch Restaurant can claim that it is the first restaurant in the Midwest to incorporate a lifelike cityscape into the decor of a dining room called the Garman Wall. Most of the south wall is devoted to an 18 foot-long and 10-foot-tall 3-D cityscape sculpture. The artwork was created by a Colorado artist, Michael Garman.
In 1983, the addition of the wall was added to the restaurant along the south dining room. Some of the guests were unable to view the Cityscape, so an addition was added and the wall was moved to the entrance area in September of 1987. Customers were delighted to closely examine the details of the complex “community” on the wall. Customers comment that they continue to see new details on their reoccurring visits to the Ranch because of the meticulous detail.
Although there is no movement in the scene, the scene is alive with action! The cityscape thrives on realistic scenes and lifelike figures reside in the city.
