Art Walks with Caroline Porter

LOCATION: Downtown Plaza – Fairmont, Minnesota **Meet outside of the old post office located at 51 Downtown Plaza, Fairmont, MN 56031

DATE & TIME: Saturday July 19th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM

COURSE OVERVIEW: “Take a stroll downtown like never before! Join me, local Fairmont Artist, Caroline Porter on a walk around Downtown Plaza then join me for a drink at Fairmont Brewing Company (FBC). I’ll lead a group of students on a walking tour where we make stops on the sidewalk along the way to urban sketch (paint/draw) preselected buildings, historical landmarks, and/or nature aspects around town. At the end of class, each stop/page will be bound together with twine to make an art journal keepsake of your experience. There will be a total of four pages: cover page, stop 1, stop 2, and stop 3.

We’ll make two stops around downtown, then make our last stop at Fairmont Brewing Company where we’ll paint and draw our last subject. One free drink at Fairmont Brewing Company is included with your ticket.”

• Stop #1: The old Post Office located at 51 Downtown Plaza, Fairmont, MN 56031.
• Stop #2: The Spot on 3rd located at the corner of W 3rd Street and Downtown Plaza.
• Stop 3#: Fairmont Brewing Company located at 414 Downtown Plaza, Fairmont, MN 56031

MATERIALS: *Instructor will provide all necessary materials for this class, however, if you would like to use your own materials (i.e. paints or brushes), students are more than welcome to bring their own.

AGE REQUIREMENTS? Ages 14+ (Children ages 10-13 to be accompanied by an adult.)
