Cabin on Amber

About This Space

Our cabin a great location when visiting the Fairmont area. Amber Lake is the most southern lake of Fairmont’s chain of lakes and is great for fishing, boating and kayaking. The sunsets are spectacular! Downtown Fairmont has a lot to offer with locally owned restaurants and shops. Fairmont is home to an extensive park and trail system with miles of scenic recreation trails. Mt bikes and kayaks are available Memorial Day-Labor Day, sometimes earlier or later or later depending on the weather.

The space

Our 669 sq ft cabin was originally built back in the 1940’s and has seen a few additions over the decades. Fishing shack turned small family home this cabin has a lot to offer. It has recently been updated with a new bathroom and some new kitchen cabinets. Each room has been redecorated with love. Our cabin is surrounded by tall oak trees so you might find an occasional bug like a fly, spider or ladybug, swatters will be provided. In the fall you will hear acorns falling and hitting the cabin roof. Our backyard provides a beautiful view of the sunset. We have a steep wooden staircase down to the 28 foot dock on Amber Lake. It will pose a challenge to some so please feel free to ask questions for more information. The dock is available middle of May through middle of October depending on the weather. Amber Lake is great for fishing, kayaking, and canoeing, but not so much for swimming as it gets algae with summer warmth. There are two beaches in town as well as Fairmont’s aquatic center. The Fairmont area has activities no matter what season you visit. We are also home to Martin County fairgrounds and speedway. Whether you’re into hunting, fishing, boating, canoeing, kayaking, the arts, small town shopping, weekend yard sales, visiting family, working or just relaxing, please consider checking out our little cabin on Amber Lake.

Guest access

You will have full access of the cabin and yard. Lake front access is at your own risk. The wooden stairs are steep and slippery when wet. They do lead to a 28 foot dock where many fish have been caught. It’s a great place to sit and watch the beautiful sunset.

Other things to note
If you are planning on using the kayaks please let us know ahead of time so we can go over some safety information.
