Cedar Hanson Park Campground, nestled along the shores of Cedar Lake just north of Trimont, is a gem of Martin County. Originally established in 1971 when the County acquired the Edwin Dushinske farm, this expansive park spans 43 acres and boasts approximately one mile of picturesque shoreline. The park’s rich history dates back to its origins as the John Hanson farm, a beloved local gathering place. Following Hanson’s passing, the property evolved into a community park and later merged with Cedar Lake Park to form the modern-day Cedar Hanson Park. Today, visitors can enjoy 37 well-equipped campsites featuring water and electrical hook-ups and a variety of charming primitive camping spots. Whether fishing off the scenic peninsula, hiking through the serene woodlands, or simply relaxing by the tranquil lake, Cedar Hanson Park offers a rejuvenating escape into nature for all who visit.
