Heritage Acres is an agricultural interpretive center designed to tell the ongoing story of farming. In 1976, heritage acres became a vision when realizing how quickly a historic way of life was disappearing from the landscape. However, the area is rapidly growing reality as they create a living rural experience for people of all ages to see, touch, and explore!
Located on forty acres of rich Martin County prairie overlooking Fairmont’s beautiful Lake Sisseton. You are invited to discover the many reasons the upper Midwest is called America’s Breadbasket. Therefore, providing food and fiber for the world family is an essential and vital industry deserving of recognition and preservation.
However, the chapel can be rented for wedding ceremonies and the Prairieville Building can be rented for meetings. Click here for their rental agreement.
The buildings are open by appointment, although, they encourage bus tours and school children to tour the facility. All buildings are open during special events and are handicap accessible. Come and enjoy your visit to the farm!
