Looking for a triathlon that’s scenic, fun, and totally doable? The Fairmont Triathlon is your chance to swim, bike, and run through Minnesota’s stunning Chain of Lakes—without the Ironman-level pain. It’s the perfect weekend to challenge yourself, cheer on family and friends, and check a triathlon off your bucket list.

Few triathlons offer scenery like this. The race takes place around Fairmont’s Chain of Lakes, giving athletes lake views during multiple parts of the race. Whether you’re swimming, biking, or running, the water is almost always in sight.

This ain’t no Ironman. The sprint distance is just enough to give you bragging rights without needing a full week to recover:

Don’t want to do all three events yourself? Grab friends and enter the relay division. One person swims, one bikes, and one runs. It’s a great way to try a triathlon without doing it solo.

The youth race on Friday night gets kids involved early. Young athletes ages 5–15 can swim, bike, and run in a fun, supportive environment.

The race starts and finishes at Gomsrud Park, which creates a fun, festival-like atmosphere. Spectators line the course, cheer athletes on, and celebrate at the finish line.

The race happens in June, which is the perfect time to visit Fairmont. It turns the race into a full weekend getaway.

For many people, completing a triathlon is a lifelong goal. The Fairmont Triathlon is the perfect event to finally make it happen!
