Did you know that four of the five lakes in Fairmont’s Chain of Lakes are connected by channels? That’s right! You can travel the lakes without having to take your boat out of the water. The only exception is Amber Lake, which isn’t connected to the others.

Where to Launch My Boat?

There are several great locations to launch your boat on Fairmont’s Chain of Lakes. These locations include Ida Street on George Lake, Ward’s Park on Sisseton Lake, Gomsrud Park for both Budd and Hall Lakes, and of course Amber Lake Park for easy access to Amber Lake.

Gomsrud Park is the top spot for swimming on Fairmont’s Chain of Lakes. In addition to its popular swimming beach, the park offers an inclusive playground, sand volleyball courts, basketball courts, restrooms, a shelter house, and picnic tables, making it the perfect place for a fun, family-friendly day.

Explore Fairmont’s Chain of Lakes by renting a kayak or paddleboard! Rentals include all necessary equipment—kayaks, paddleboards, paddles, and life jackets—available for pickup at Shell Gas Station (1552 Albion Ave, Fairmont). The kayaks and paddleboards are located at Gomsrud Park, just east of the public restrooms at 260 W Lair Road.
