Today, we embarked on a budget-friendly family adventure in Fairmont, Minnesota. Our first stop was Cedar Creek Park, a serene oasis just a short drive from town. As we pulled into the parking lot, a gentle breeze greeted us and the sweet scent of fall. The park’s sprawling green lawns are perfect for a picnic, and the winding trails invite exploration.
Pro Tip! If you enjoy playing disk golf, bring your disks! There’s a fun disk golf course here!
Our next stop was Timberlake Orchard, a local orchard known for its delicious apples. We stopped in the shop first and both of the employees were super helpful and nice. We decided to pick our own apples and had tons of fun searching for the biggest and juiciest apples we could find! After filling our bags, we went back in the shop to check out and explore the large variety of apple gifts inside.
Pro Tip! Get the Honeycrisp Apples if you can, they’re some of the best apples we’ve ever had!
Our last stop of the day was at Gomsrud Park and it was pure magic! We were pleasantly surprised to find not just one huge playground, but two! We explored, climbed, slid, and swung our hearts out, creating memories that will last a lifetime. These playgrounds are a hidden gem, offering endless fun for kids of all ages and abilities! The newer playground is also the largest handicap accessible playground in the state!
Pro Tip! Bring water and snacks, you won’t want to leave this magical place!
