I can still smell the sweet aroma of fresh doughnuts and apple pie wafting from my memories of Timberlake Orchard. We couldn’t resist, so we instantly had to buy some doughnuts fresh from the oven. Despite not being a huge doughnut fan, my share was gone within minutes. Looking around the small shop, there are tons of goodies that would make great gifts or things to remember our trip by. Personally, I loved the Minnesota books of state parks and spots to visit due to my love of adventure. After looking around, we grabbed two bags to go pick some of our own apples. Honeycrisp was ready, much to our delight. The orchard was easily accessible and had tons of apples for everyone to pick, from the shortest kids to the tallest adults. My husband was happy to help the kids who wanted to reach the higher apples by giving them a boost on his shoulders. Finishing up our picking, we brought the bags back into the shop to be weighed for payment and added a freshly made applesauce to our order. Pro Tip: Don’t sleep on the freshly made doughnuts!

Ending our day, we headed to Fairmont 5 Theatres for a showing of Soul on Fire. My son, being an avid dinosaur lover, adored the pig statue outside of the theater with Jurassic Park and Land of Time characters painted on. While buying our tickets, we also bought a combo deal of soda, candy, and popcorn. This was the perfect assortment of treats for us to enjoy. Not only was the movie amazing, but the experience of the theater was top-notch. We were all delighted to discover the theater’s recliners were heated. Sitting cozy in blankets and with heated seating, this was the most enjoyable way to end our night.
Pro Tip: Bring blankets to cozy up for your show!
A Minnesota mama of 3, I love exploring and finding new hidden gems as a family with my husband! I started my blog in honor of my dad who died of Lewy Body Dementia almost three years ago. We began adventure Fridays with him to make memories and adventure. Since he died, we have continued on with the tradition and hope to inspire others to make all the memories with loved ones before they are gone. Our family loves nature, being active, and every ice cream shop.
